This Privacy Policy describes how ELDT.Courses ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors and customers of eldt.courses and our learning platform at moodle.eldt.courses (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

ELDT.Courses is owned and operated by Terence Mullins, a sole proprietor based in Pennsylvania, USA. We provide FMCSA-approved Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) and related commercial driver education through online courses.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: Name, email address, mobile phone number (when you opt in), and any optional profile information.
  • Enrollment information: Courses purchased, payment records, and course progress.
  • Communications: Messages you send us via email, contact forms, SMS, or phone.
  • Waitlist signups: Email, name, and which courses you've expressed interest in.

Information we collect automatically:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, time on page, course modules accessed, quiz scores, and completion timestamps.
  • Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
  • Cookies: Small data files used to remember your login session, preferences, and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Services may not work properly.

Information from third parties:

  • Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal): transaction confirmation and limited billing information. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our courses and platform.
  • Process payments and deliver enrolled courses.
  • Track your course progress, completion, and FMCSA-required reporting to the Training Provider Registry.
  • Send course-related emails and (with consent) SMS messages.
  • Respond to support inquiries.
  • Comply with FMCSA regulations and other legal obligations.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

4. Email Marketing (MailerLite)

When you join our waitlist or enroll in a course, you may receive emails about course launches, updates, special offers, and educational content. We use MailerLite to deliver these emails.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us at contact@eldt.courses. Transactional emails (enrollment confirmations, password resets, FMCSA training receipts) cannot be unsubscribed because they are required to deliver our Services.

5. SMS / Text Message Communications (RingCentral)

We use RingCentral for SMS communications. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you agree to receive text messages from ELDT.Courses for the following purposes:

  • Course launch announcements — when courses you've expressed interest in become available.
  • Enrollment and order confirmations — receipts and access details after purchase.
  • Customer support replies — when you text us with a question or issue.
  • Promotional offers and discounts — limited-time sales and subscriber-only deals.
  • Two-factor authentication codes — for account security, when applicable.

How you opt in to SMS:

You can opt in to receive SMS from us through any of the following:

  • Submitting your phone number on our waitlist form at eldt.courses/waitlist with the SMS consent checkbox enabled.
  • Providing your phone number during course enrollment with the SMS consent checkbox enabled.
  • Checking a separate SMS opt-in checkbox in your account settings.
  • Texting us first (your reply confirms your consent to ongoing communication).

Important SMS terms:

  • Message frequency varies. You may receive promotional messages up to 4 times per month, plus transactional messages as needed (e.g., enrollment confirmations, support replies).
  • Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges based on your mobile plan apply. ELDT.Courses does not charge for SMS messages.
  • To opt out: Reply STOP to any text message at any time. You will receive a confirmation that you've been unsubscribed and will not receive further messages.
  • For help: Reply HELP to any text message, or contact us at contact@eldt.courses.
  • Supported carriers: All major US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint, and others). Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information sharing:

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below:

  • Service providers we use to operate our Services, including MailerLite (email), RingCentral (SMS/voice), Stripe and PayPal (payments), our hosting provider, and Moodle for course delivery. These providers access information only as needed to perform their functions.
  • FMCSA / Training Provider Registry: Course completion data is submitted to the federal Training Provider Registry as required by 49 CFR Part 380.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or safety.
  • Business transfers: If ELDT.Courses is sold, merged, or acquired, your information may transfer with the business.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and course information as long as your account is active and as required by FMCSA recordkeeping rules (which may require records to be retained for up to three years after course completion). You may request account deletion by contacting us, subject to our legal retention obligations.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to FMCSA retention requirements).
  • Opt out of marketing emails and SMS.
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures (HTTPS encryption, secure passwords, limited access controls) to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults 18 years or older (commercial driver licensing requires age 18 or 21 minimum, depending on the type of driving). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

Our Services may link to external sites (such as Amazon for our published book). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. Please review their privacy policies separately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted prominently on our website and (where appropriate) communicated to active users by email.
